What is a DECENT living space?

In some prisons in the US, two inmantes occupy a 8 x 10 foot cell.  A college dorm room may be 12 x 14 for two people.  On the other hand, some people live in mansions of 10000 to 20000 square feet!

How much spece do people need in their shelters to have a decent, humane, life?  What do people need to be able to DO in their shelters?

i would say that people should have a minimum of about 500 square feet, but only Need enough room to lay down, and go to the bathroom, if food is provided. humanly, 1000 square feet, would be much closer to humane for those not being puninshed.☺

they need enough space to eat, sleep, and move around. the numbers may change it depends on how often your in your house and what you do while in it.

i think that the amount of space is determined by the person and their needs....like a person in a wheelchair will need more space then a person without one...people will need to eat, sleep, use the restroom...and lots of other things that i cant name cuz i cant think of them..

They should have room enough to sleep comfortably, eat, go to the bathroom and walk around. It all depends on how much you are in your house and the stuff you have to do in there

I would have to say 1500 square feet. but it matters how many people live in the house, because I have 5 people in my family and we live in a 4000 to 4500 square feet house. You should be able to do things you need to live.

I think some need more and some need less...cause like some people have disabilites.. and they need more space to live in.. and they need to be able to at lleast move around in it

Carissa forgot her username and password so this is her post ----------- Eat, cook, sleep, shower, use restroom, clean or wash clothes, and just have enough space for themselves.

I live in a 2,800 sq. foot home and that is perfect size for the three people that live in my house. 4bdrm. 3 full baths. So I would have to say a little less then 1,000 sq. feet per person is good.
