Write a 2-3 paragraph summary of what you have learned in this project about driving safety, and the factors affecting individual drivers. This should be a separate comment on the blog for each student. It should show me, without defining a list of vocabulary words, that you know what it means for a car or a person to experience velocity, speed, acceleration, reaction time factors, centripetal force, inertia, and equipment condition.
Please hand in the graph from part 1, the poster from page 2 (if you did it), your conclusions from page 3, and your conclusions from page 4.
Breakdown of points
Blog post 1: 10 points (that's the one below this post)
Graph: 20 points (you have done this)
Page 2 or Blog Post: 10 points (you have done this with your poster)
Page 3: 10 points
Page 4: 25 points (you need to make sketches of each)
Final blog Post: 25 points (that is this one)

I have learned about speed, velocity, and acceleration in this unit. I now know more about car safety then i did before. This has made me a safer driver and a more educated driver.
I know that all the vocabulary words are gonna make my life easier, cuz even if it dont seem like it we use them every day. I learned about yellow lights vs. stop signs, and how soon you should brake at what speed and about collisions.
When you are driving you need to be safe. You need to know your reaction time and drive according to it. If you have a slow reaction time, you should drive under the speed limit, or at it if you have a fast one.
You should also know that distractions lower your reaction time. Wheather this is drinking, or using a cell phone, you should not be doiing these while driving. Try also not to look off the road when talking to your partner in the car. Even if you have a good reaction time, this may not save you from an accident. from the spot you put in the brake, it takes 100ft to come to a complete stop at 30 mph. so you would have to stop way before you get to where you need to stop.
When going around a curve, you should ride where its banked, so you dont fly off. make sure you dont put on the gas untill your sure that you wont need to put on the brake in a second. This will save you gas, as well as possible time.
i learned that you should drive at safe speed. you should not eat, talk on a cell phone or change a CD. you need to pay attention to the not your friends and put the Cd in before you leave. check your brakes and your oil and your gas. so you don't get stuck in the middle of nowhere.
I learned that you need to pay attention. You could hit someone or sumthing in front of you. You need to check your brakes and other things so if you are going really fast you need to be able3 to stop in time b4 you hit the person ahead of you.
you mneed to be able to react faster just in caser the person ahead of you stops really fast. When a deer jumps out ahead of you DONT SWERVE use your brake
Why do you think drivers need to know the fundamentals of speed, velocity, and acceleration while they are driving? What is the most common reaction time distraction YOU are likely to have? Answer in the comments
Drivers need to know it becausde they need to beable to know when they have to stop and when thery are able to stop. they need to know when to accelerate so thay can gat up a hill and not go backwards.
I learned that we need to go slow on a street that older people live on. I also learned that we need to pay attention to the street and not get distracted by other people in the car.
i laernd that when i drive i should awys keep eyes out for dear and keep my hand on the wheel at all times and put my cd in the cdplayer befor i leav the house and keep it on the speed lemit and have a cheak up every mouth.
In this benchmark I learned all about speed, velocity, acceleration, reaction time, and car safety.
I learned many things with speed and curves that will hopefully help me become a better driver. I also learned all the dangers that distractions can be that can cause accidents.
I have learned that its not all about driving carefully. It has other elements like reaction time, looking ahead, bacnk curves (how fast to go on them),also I never knew you should honk at a deer and not swerve. I also learned about speed, accerlation, velocity.
Also the other factors are for other drivers are like talking on cellphones, eating, txting, having someone in the car. These effect your reaction times and your drving skill, and also caN GET YOU DISTRACTION
I have learned many things about driving safty. One is that when you are driving you need to have little distractions. You need to know how fast your approx. reaction tiem is so thath way you know like how fast to go when you around places with deer for ex. I learned that velocity is not how fast you go but the direction your going as well. The condition your car/equiptment is also effects your reaction time.
Some of the things I have learned in this project are, why the road is banked. I learned that the road is banked because when cars are on a curve they need force on them to help keep the car on the curve. Another thing I have learned bout reaction time and all the factors. There are a lot of factors when it comes to changing the reaction time. Some of those could be, driving while under the influence, the weather, the breaks on your car, there are tons of factors.
Something else I learned about is centripetal force. When we did the activity with the turn-table and the weight. We saw that it was harder to get off the closer it was to the center and it didn't take anything to get off when the weight was closer to the outside.
I've learned a lot about velocity, speed, reaction time etc. And this really taught me a lot on driving safety I would of never knew what a bank curve is and why we have banked curves but now I know.
And now I know that I should find out what my reaction is and who is driving around me. And what I should think about when coming to a yellow light should I nkeep going or stop quick.
in this project i have learned why speed limits are set .and why road signs are where they are. and how to drive safe.
reaction time is the time it takes you to get your foot on the brake. centrifical force is what pushes you in to banked curve. the faster volicity you have the slower your reaction time will be.
Dalton, Jon, and Jordon
We have learned about speed velocity stopping time stopping distance acceleration time and yellow light time.
We also learned that this will help us in our driving and our decision making. The faster you go the more stopping distance you will need to stop safely.
We also learned that is better to have a front wheel drive car than a rear wheel drive car.
