Where do you find....

Kinetic and Potential energy in each of the following.....

a) an athlete leaving the ground for a high jump

b) a pop fly on its way back down

c) an engine as the driver puts the hammer down

d) a cheerleader cartwheeling across the gym floor

a= potential is leaving and kinetic is going up

b= the kinetic energy is lowering and so is the potential

c= the kinetic goes way up the potential is transfering into kinetic.

d= the kinetic energy is fairly high the potential is lowering

C)potential in the accelerator before he hits the gas kinetic wen he hits the gas.

Potential: athlete feet on the ground, pop fly when it stops,hammer stopping, and cheerleader stoping.

Kinetic:doing the high jump, when the pop fly is falling, the hammer being put down, and cheerleader doing the cartwheel.

b)potential-before its hit. kinetic-when the ball is in the air.

c)potential-before you press the gas. kinetic-after he pressed the gas.

d)potential-before she starts her first cartwheel. kinetic- when shes doing them.

B) when you pull back to throw the ball and when its in the air.

P-storing it when you are about ready to jump
B)K-When you are throwing it and when it its coming back down
P-it has no potential energy on the way back down

D)K- when she is going around for the second time cause your using your momentum to get over
